For almost a decade now, the Berlin Process (BP) has attracted the attention of anyone interested in EU foreign policy and integration policies. Despite its successes, the BP has been criticised for lacking a formal coordination mechanism, and its existence as an informal forum of dialogue and cooperation has been questioned many times. This research study looks into the role of informality driving the BP, led by the premise that it is precisely this element that has made the BP a successful tool driving the alignment of WB6 with the EU standards.
