The Home and Abroad programme at React-LAB aims to take a deeper look into regional and international development agendas concerning Kosovo and the WB6 region in general. For many years now the region has been in the process of EU integration, manifested with different economic and political initiatives. We expand our research to explore the region’s potential in different regional and international organisations and economic agendas with potential for the region beyond the EU integration process.
Analysing the role and development of institutions in Kosovo and the broader WB6 region to understand how they contribute to or hinder connectivity on both regional and international levels.
Examining at a technical level the existing infrastructure networks (including transportation, energy, digital infrastructure, etc.) within Kosovo and the WB6 region to identify areas for improvement from the institutional side for a maximised benefit from regional development agendas in the infrastructure level.
Scrutinising the ongoing technical and political dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia and identifying areas where improved dialogue can lead to mutually beneficial outcomes and contribute to the overall progress of the region.
Identifying potential challenges and proposing strategies to build stronger connections with neighbouring countries.
Examining (cyber) security cooperation between the Western Balkans and external actors, including the role of NATO and the OSCE.
Exploring the potential for increased trade within the region and with external partners including CEFTA, Common Regional Market, and more.
